We work very closely with the gun manufacturer to optimize the design, bearing in mind that the consistent and reliable operation of the auto-pistols depends largely on how well the magazine feeds and ramps the bullets.
MEC-GAR magazines feature perfectly interchangeable components which are the result of the finest precision stamping, bending and drawing operations. Precision TIG welding under supervised direction insures for a "no-snag" and durable seamless finish on very thin thicknesses (from .023" to .047") (0,60 รท 1,2mm). Built to last, MEC-GAR magazines are heat-treated to provide additional strength. Our in-house heat treatment manufacturing monitors the entire process from the hardening step to the stress relieve. All variables are kept under control to get parts complying to the tightest specifications. Surface hardness goes from 550 to 750 Vickers (HV1Kg) while carburizing depth measured at 550 Vickers staying between .002" (0,05mm) and .005" (0,12mm) (HV0.2Kgs).
Hi-tech coatings such as black oxide, high or medium Phosphorus Electroless Nickel, special manganese-phosphating provide MEC-GAR magazines with an excellent corrosion resistance. Steel, glass or matte finished surfaces are also available.
